Michael's Recent Phone Call

Michael and I had a good phone call this week, as he’s getting more comfortable at Eastern Correctional. He should be starting his new job this week, as for now he’ll be learning sign language! He is hoping to use that skill to propose another job that would still have him helping the deaf inmates there. Will the Prison system listen?

So far most of the Staff act professional and treat the inmates as humans there. What a change! Michael is once again in a battle to receive proper medical care. He’s met up with a new Doctor that wants to give him even less than before! This just causes more stress for Michael and his friends, as we have found over the years that medical care for when you have a proven problem does not exist in Prison! Paperwork is shoveled over you, and it’s never swept away! I guess everything can’t be good in there.

Michael’s typewriter finally arrived via the prison mail system, so he’s once again able to work on the editing with his book. As long as his Editor keeps sending him pages, he’ll have all the edits finished soon!

He was very happy with the food I had brought to him on my last visit, especially with being able to have fresh pineapples again! He’s looking forward to some special Truffles from his friend Robin that I’ll be including in his next food package! (Thank you Robin!)

As always, more to come….

Hi love purple. I am fascinated with Michael. I was a mild club kid in SF at the same time you were playing in NYC. I have seen the crime show Notorious and the movie with McCauley. I know how hazy life can be when your out of control. Why wasn't he released in January as planned?

I'm not sure what January you are referring to, but he should have been released on Conditional Release in Sept of 2010. He received enough good time to be released, and the Prison Warden recommended that he be released. The final approval comes from one person in Albany, a yes or no signature, and it was no! There is talk that Law Enforcement is getting back at Michael because he didn't testify against Peter Gatien. There was no reason why he was told no, especially with Freeze already being out!

He's up for Parole this July, but they may not let him go. (Parole can keep saying that it was a horrific crime over and over for an excuse)  Once he leaves Southport and does the required 6 month drug treatment program (even though he tested negative for drugs) he'll be eligible for Conditional Release once again, and my opinion is that he'll be released then.
