Michael Alig; How he's doing now
Michael Alig is staying strong at the Southport Correctional
Facility. He still hopes to get out of there sometime in December, and then be
transferred to a regular Maximum Security Facility. Michael has been getting regular weekend visits, as he did
this past Sunday. The report was that Michael was in good spirits and dealing
better with his time in there since he can see the light at the end of the
tunnel. In his letters to me, his mood has been better! He’s not
happy of course, but has gotten use to the conditions in there. The one thing
Michael really misses is the phone! He feels so lost not being able to call his
friends as he once did. Michael is only allowed one visit a week, so if you’d like

I miss the phone calls too the most! I'm glad to here he is getting better and I hope he feels good enough to write me soon!

It's like we're in the stone age communicating with Michael! Snail mail takes so long compared to email, but a phone call is so much more personal! On the phone I could look things up for him online and he would have his answers instantly! Now he waits a week because he has to wait for my response to come in the mail. Hearing his voice though, you can tell how he really is!
