Michael is about to reach level 3 at Southport, which is the highest level you can reach for having good behavior. What is the incentive to reach this highest level of good behavior at the worse SHU prison in NY? Being allowed to buy candy bars! Once a month, Michael can purchase candy bars! I once read it was fifty dollars a month that can be spent. (Not sure on that) At this point, Michael will eat anything that isn’t made at the prison!

This may ruin his new and improved physique he has gotten by doing an enormous amount of push-ups! I’m so happy that Michael is staying strong mentally, as that has a lot to do with all the letters he gets, and having enough newspapers and magazines to fill his day. The most important though is his visitors, most of whom travel long distances and have to put up with long waits to get in and not always having a nice welcome by the staff.
