Michael Alig's Christmas

Christmas in Prison

Holidays are a sad time for most in this nation's prisons. Michael usually tries to do the customary things around the Holidays, which for him includes exchanging cards and having visitors. This year will be different, as he is not allowed to have his address book or excessive paper and cards. He wanted me to let all his friends know that he's very sorry that he can't send them cards this year. Even though it's out of his control, he still feels bad.

 There's good and one bad aspect with Michael finally leaving Southport on 12/22. He may be in "Reception" (a special holding area for arriving inmates) on Christmas Day, so he may not get a visit. We may not even know where he is that day, but hopefully he'll be able to call me or someone else to let us know. If he is allowed visitors, someone has already scheduled a flight to NY to see him, so he won't be alone.

 Michael is thankful for all the cards he has and will receive,and wishes that everyone has a happy holiday!

    I'm simply a fan but I just wanted to say his story has touched me and i understand the intense passion and pain that go's into such an act that caused all the consequences he is facing. I believe the law should be reason free from passion when deciding whats right and wrong but i also believe sentencing should fit the crime and in this case i believe wholeheartedly the punishment dose not fit his so called "crime" he needed love support and guidance not to be locked away like a vicious animal i think it's wrong my point to this ramble is that. I hope he knows there is a vary LARGE group of people who are waiting for him to get out and touch the world again. He's a beautiful soul I wish him well and all the success in any venture he decides to pursue he deserves it!!!
