I spoke to Michael last night from his new home at Coxsackie Correctional, and he sounded happy to be out of Southport! He says he still knows a lot of people in Coxsackie and the prison is familiar to him, but he was so happy to have a visit on Christmas. His visitor told me later that it was the best visit she has had with him. Well, she had been visiting him in Southport, which is very unpleasant to the visitors as well as the inmates.
Michael received food and personal items, his first package since March! (Thank you Mary!) It was great timing, as the prison bus system seems to take cues from the airline industry when it comes to losing passenger bags! Michael still doesn't have his things, so hopefully on Monday the staff can locate where it ended up. That means he still doesn't have his address book, so if you're expecting a phone call and don't receive one, write him a letter with your phone number.
Some people have already signed up for visits, right now Tues, 1/5 is taken along with the weekend of 1/17. Please email me @ comments@michaelaligblog.com if you're thinking about going.
Please remember that Michael can only write back to people 18 and older, so if you're under age and have not received a response, that's why. Here's his new address again;
