Positive Parole Meeting for Michael Alig

Michael met with a Parole Officer as a prelude to his Parole hearing in July. This is the first time Michael had a positive experience, as usually he's just told "you're not getting out" amongst other negative things. He was not even counting on Parole since he should be getting out after his Rehab program is finished due to Conditional Release. The Officer's opinion was that he has a 50/50 chance to be let out on Parole.

She went over what would be required of him when he's out, including attending an outpatient Drug Program, which he already knew. Michael is really believing now that his nightmare is almost over! I have always tried to be encouraging to him about his future, but he never seemed to believe me when I would talk about him being out of prison and doing positive things. It's great to see that Michael is there mentally, ready to get out and do good things with his life!

So glad to hear that he had a good experience with parole! In my letters, I always tell him that he can use his incredible creative outlet to do amazing things! The past is the past. I know that Michael can and will succeed in a positive way. I have faith in him.

If you'd like send a message to Michael, you'll have to write to him in prison as he can't receive 3rd party mail. (message from you thru me)

Please send letters and cards separate from any packages containing books and/or magazines. Your letter will be sent back to you at Michael's expense, or thrown away.

You must put your full name and address on every piece of mail you send to Michael, or he will not get it! The prison makes NO exceptions!
