My visit with Michael Alig

This blog is written by a friend of Michael's who travels quite a distance to visit him.

Recently on august 9th I went to visit with Michael at Coxsackie. It felt great to be able to see him again and be able to actually talk with him. When I got in the visiting room i waited for them to get him for about 30 minutes. I made the mistake of looking out the window and as soon as Michael came walking up he scared me from behind. It was pretty funny but as soon as he sat down we fell back into our deep conversations and pointless ones lol anyways we visited and time seem to pass on by real fast. We talked about movies, the heat, james st. james, etc. etc! This time Michael seemed a lot more positive then the last times i had seen which made me think he will do great things when he is out and wont take advantage of what has been given back to him. I wont have the chance to get back to New York for some time but now that I have been there it sucks but I feel i wont have to worry about him and he will be fine once he is released. That is all i can ask for really, is good things for my friend. Overall it was a wonderful visit and we enjoyed our time together. It was much needed for the both of us I feel. I urge anyone who claims they are Michael's friend to visit him as soon as possible. Visits keep him sane and positive and some people don't realize how much it helps him. Thanks to Lovepurple for making this all possible!!

Thanks for sharing Regan! You are so right. If you claim to be a true friend of Michael, you should definitely pay him a visit. I'm going to set up a time next month to go see him. It will be a long trip for me as well (I live in Seattle), but that doesn't bother me. It will be so worth it to speak with him in person. So excited!
Joanne - I will let you know when I plan on flying out so that you can setup visitation. Michael told me to set it up through you. Thanks in advance!
