Visitors lifting Michaels Spirits
Michael's visitor drought has finally ended! Recently,
Michael's usually good luck with having regular visitors had turned bad, with
not many people committing and those that did were backing out at the last
minute. Yes, life gets busy, but with his recent bad news of not being released
and with the
Thank you to his Saturday visitors who attended the Festival, as the festival is a rare chance to have a more open and relaxing visit, but the most important thing, real food is brought in! That's a big deal in prison!
Yesterday Michael had 3 friends visit that mean a lot to him, and on the phone last night his tone of voice was a hundred times better! I had not heard him that uplifted in a long time. These visits really help him, so I hope more friends will be able to go soon!

I'm glad so many people are visiting Michael and REALLY thankful that you keep us all updated on this site.
I write to him, and I know you said he could use money for stamps, but I'm curious about the whole thing... people can just send him cash? I know that, especially because he doesn't know me well, he wouldn't ask for stamp money or anything, but I would like to send him a Christmas card and something else. Are cards dealt with the same way?

Cards get in! It's best to send a money order. He will get a pink slip showing the money that was sent in for him. Personal checks are accepted but take several weeks to clear on his account. You can send cash but I wouldn't. If it's a dollar you could try, and write to him telling that you sent cash and how much so he can tell you if he received it.

Do you have to be preapproved to visit him? Or can you just go there. What is the procedure? Any info you can give would be awesome. Thanks!

You must be 18, not on Parole or Probation in NYS. I set up people to go only so no one will be rejected at the door. Most people travel a long ways to see him, some even across the Country, so it would be unfair if they arrived and were not allowed in because people were already inside. This used to happen, and Michael would be so upset for those who went to all that trouble to come see him, so he wanted a way to organize the visits, and it's been working out well. Also, he looks forward to the visits once I tell him the date, and that helps him have something to look forward to! I publish on my blog what dates are taken so it's not too difficult to give everyone a fair shot of the dates they want.
