Michael Alig's new job
Michael met
with the program committee this week as he needed to be assigned to a job and
housing. Even though he was denied a Porter job in the Reception Dorm (he had
made friends with the Porters there) he was assigned to be a Porter in the Dorm
that he'll be living in.
Fantastic, I'm so glad that he got the job that he was hoping for! What exactly is a Porter?

Porters do lots of things including cleaning, handing out supplies, and I know in Maxium Security they hand out the meals. I'll have to find out more from Michael, but the good thing about it is you have more freedom as they are up moving and doing things at the times the others are stuck in the Dorm. Also, he won't have to be up in the morning as they work afternoons and evenings.

Sounds like a decent gig for him. It's nice that he'll actually be able to move around & not just be stuck in one spot. I'm sure that gets old fast! Plus, this will keep his mind busy.

I feel so bad that I did no get a letter or even a card sent out to Michael before the holidays; however, it sounds like he may not have received all that was coming to him since he moved to a new facility. This will be the first time I've ever written to Michael (I mentioned once that I've always wanted to over the past several years, so I will just be happy to know he'll get it at his new facility. I asked you about the rules a few months back, so I wanted to know what Franklin's rules are if they differ from the other. Is there a limit to how many sheets of paper there? Can we send him stamps or just currency to buy stamps? I guess I just wanted to know the basics before I send him my letter. Being the first time I'd hate for me to do something wrong and have him not get it.

You should still send your card and letters to Michael! I just found out via email that the 3 books I ordered from Amazon were returned to Amazon, so Coxsackie didn't even accept them! Michael had been told that his mail would be forwarded to him at Franklin, but when it comes to prison, things don't always work as they should.
He has the same mail rules at Franklin, only 5 sheets of paper per envelope, and you can't send stamps. You should send a check or money order to cover the stamps, as he gets lots of mail and doesn't have the money to respond to them all. Make sure you put your full return address on the envelope or it will be rejected.

I really want to try and write Michael ASAP_*:: am having auto difficulties at the moment and trying to get that cleared away...took it to the nearest Automobile shop and they didnt get to it till today, they are giving me an estimate, it could be the tread in the tire, to the bearings./../ Im hoping that it will be the tread; knowing that I just had a tire replaced 3 months ago.
I was more worried with colliding with another automobile due to the fact that (1) innocent people on-coming, and (2) there may be infants/children on the auto...I could never forgive myself. ON another different subject, SO IM taking the reliable commuter bus Transportation here, and it was really something, very incredible, and awesome!! Since it was apparent that they told me the wrong fee (EACH-WAY) he let me slide on the way back home. I think I might be riding it more often!! I am excited for Michael for getting into this new Medium Security and meeting the new friends he has; Its been yes by far...Michael; years that I have recieved a smile from you, and have never forgotten it. IM sure you have forgotten me...but that is expected. ANd thats ok...Just knowing that your doing ok and hearing your fine, is something of a GREAT NATURE for me. I will write asap, but try and give me some allotted minuted and few days for that to get to you. I dont know if you can write back?

I sent him a $2.00 bill instead of a check. Is that ok?

Hopefully he'll get it! Some people do send cash, and it seems nuts to write a check or MO for a dollar or two! If you become a regular writer, then send more money, but further apart, like 10.00 every few months or so.
