No Lawyer for Michael Alig, she's just a Fraud!
I know I reported on this blog that Michael has a lawyer, and I printed her words here, but there's been a fraud going on, and that fraud has been calling herself Jennifer Fisher.
After "Jennifer" told us she obtained evidence from Franklin Correctional, things seemed fishy. At times I even had to correct her on prison policy when she gave me the wrong information, so that gave me more doubts. Her stories on things she did and what she claimed happened at the prisons were outrageous, but Michael's mom and I wanted to remain neutral while we checked it all out.
It turns out that "Jennifer" did nothing for Michael, except tell us outrageous lies. (she did break the Law though and should be prosecuted) She wasted some time, but didn't cause Michael any harm, except that all his friends thinks that he has a Lawyer and doesn't need help.
Well, Michael does need help, he needs a real NY Lawyer to file an Article 78 for him. Michael has no job, so no income, so the Lawyer needs to be pro bono. If there's a Lawyer out here, or if you know one willing to help, please contact Michael with a letter of introduction and your credentials.
Michael was setup and doesn't deserve to be in Southport being treated like an animal. I just can't believe in this day, and in the great US of A, we treat our people like this. Michael has never been violent in his 14 years in prison, yet he's housed with the most violent inmates in NY State! The prison system must change, so lets start with Michael Alig!

What in the fuck. This has become far beyond ridiculous. Poor Michael. What this must be doing to him. Ughhh. I hope something gets better for him.

yes, everything Lovepurple wrote it true about Jennifer FISHER. but make no mistake, after i find a pro bono lawyer, my next project will be finding this LOW LIFE. she has wasted our time when we could have been searching for a real lawyer. We were suspicious, but Michael also told me he thought SHE was a fake after he did some investigating FROM PRISON. how does he do it? (smiling) answer...HE IS MICHAEL.

I gotta say.....I've been following this blog for over a year, but rarely post any comments. However, I was SO tempted recently to express my doubts about this "lawyer" simply due to her outrageous and HORRENDOUS spelling/writing skills. Not every lawyer need be a seasoned writer or author, but they ARE trained in preparing (writing) legal briefs, opinions, motions, etc., so there has to be SOME reasonable semblance of a general command of the English language. I saw none of the sort with this person claiming to be a lawyer, but I didn't want to come across as overtly negative and gave the person the benefit of doubt. But, reading your latest post validates my initial intuition. I'm just sorry it had to be this way. Doesn't the law of our land provide people, even those incarcerated, with legal representation? Can't Michael ask for a lawyer to be appointed to him? Couldn't he petition the court or a lawyer's association to provide him with help and representation, pro bono? I can't believe there isn't anyone out there willing to take on a higher profile case like Michael's? on a side note.... i've really been meaning to write Michael a letter, just haven't done it yet. eventually

Same here, I thought she didn't write like a lawyer and that no real lawyer would be stupid enough to publicly brag about having a judge in her pocket (something that, if true, could land both judge and lawyer in jail) but since I never spoke to her directly I didn't want to say anything.
To answer your question, Article 78s are considered civil, rather than criminal, proceedings so he is not entitled to a court appointed lawyer.
Michael (or someone he authorizes to help him find a lawyer) might want to contact Prisoners' Legal Services of New York (http://www.plsny.org/, 102 Prospect Street Ithaca, NY 14850) and/or the Legal Aid Society (http://www.legal-aid.org/en/home.aspx, (212) 577-3530, Prisoners’ Rights Project The Legal Aid Society 199 Water Street New York, NY 10038) for help finding a pro-bono attorney.
Also, Columbia Human Rights Law Review publishes a book called "A Jailhouse Lawyer's Manual" (online at http://www3.law.columbia.edu/hrlr/JLM/) which contains all kinds of potentially useful information.

It was kind of obvious something wasn't right, any correspondence written by her on this site was littered with spelling mistakes and grammatical errors. Not what I would expect from a lawyer.

I agree with Karen. I could tell from the first sentence that this person wrote that she was not a lawyer. Every sentence was riddled with grammatical and spelling errors. Plus, she made some pretty outrageous comments, like being admitted to about 8 state bars and having a New York State Supreme Court judge in her pocket. That's preposterous.
In any event, prisoners are not entitled to legal representation except for issued involving the case for which they were convicted. Any issue regarding prison infractions or parole eligibility is dealt with by the prison and no prisoner is given ability or right to an attorney. So I don't think that people should get their hopes up about Michael being represented by anyone. Sorry.

By the way, has Michael filed an administrative appeal under 7 NYCRR 254.8 yet? He doesn't need a lawyer to do that and not doing it within 30 days of the original ruling could adversely effect his article 78 claim.

even though i am german, i could still notice her grammatical mistakes in her writing. michael was never fooled by her. as a matter of fact, he wrote to me and told me not to believe anything she e-mailed me that she was A FAKE. ( i saved all her e-mails ) he was more angry then then anything else that she got mine and Lovepurple's hope up and also the fact, that she was laughing at us. she is evil and mentally ill. he wants her investigated. there is a law against impersonating a lawyer.

posting someone real name on the net is not a good idea. First off, I am jennifer's cousin, and last week, she was killed in a plane accident in the Mountains of New Hampshire. So before you started slandering her her on the internet, she did not break any laws, she did do what she has said, and has done. She Graduated high school, at the age of 16, and obtained a few different degrees. That is why you have not heard from her. I just went through her Laptop today.. and her parents are upset at what has been written, about her. please removed it, for their sake. cause they knew how hard she was working for Michael. from what I gather.. neither LP or his mom weren't there.. so how would they know. what really happened.. I was not either so I dont know either, but remove the full name from your post. cause that is slander and that is against the law.

Michael did confirm that no Lawyer tried to visit him, and no $50.00 that she claimed to have left for him was received. Also no staff there was arrested and suspended, and he would have had to sign paperwork in order for "The Lawyer" to get ANYTHING from the prison, including "evidence" The note she claimed she received as evidence, Michael still has.
So, Michael did have all this checked out. His mom and I were waiting on this proof before we came out and said something, as we wanted to be correct and not start rumors.
Why can't I find a story in a New Hampshire newspaper about the plane crash?

I am from Maine and if there where a plane crash in NH it would have been all over our news. I have also searched the internet and found nothing. So I know for a fact this isn't true.

My understanding is that claiming to be a lawyer is not a crime unless it can be proven that she did so "with intent to obtain a benefit or to injure or defraud another" in which case it could be a class A misdemeanor (Criminal Impersonation in the Second Degree, New York Penal Code § 190.25). Another possibility, if she actually gave legal advice or filed papers with the court, would be an action for practicing law without a license.
By the way, according to the FAA there were no plane crashes in New Hampshire last week (http://www.faa.gov/data_research/accident_incident/preliminary_data/).

Sending him a Birthday card will help Michael! I hope everyone sends one, please,asap as mail gets looked though so he doesn't get it the same day it arrives at the prison, especially cards as some people use them to send drugs.

This completely baffles me! Why would anybody do something like this? What pleasure were they getting out of it?? I agree, they should be prosecuted!! I wish that there was something that I could do to help. Hopefully, Michael got my package today!

This is unfortunate for Michael and I just wanted to say that james st james and keoki are in syracuse tonite for a party monster tour party that i unfortunatley couldnt attend , but youre friend are close by Michael...hang in there. EVERYONE IS WAITING FOR YOU WHEN YOU GET OUT!!!!

Michael told me about that, so I wondered why they don't try to visit Michael since they are so close. They may have a tight schedule, I just wish I knew about it earlier so I would have contact James to ask about visiting.

Thank you for pointing that out. I just emailed James and I let him know what is going on. The "Lawyer" had reported that Keoki weighed 250 lbs and was recovering in Denver. It looked to me like he has already recovered. I wonder if the dead Lawyer is still in contact with James?

Anyone likes lawyer games?? Well I do and I just came up with a funny one for JENNIFER FISHER (there you go.. I posted the name again ... SUE ME):
a) so we post all about her fraud/impersonation etc all over the internet which is perfectly ok since we can prove every single word we say and can back it up with evidence. Now here is where the lawyer game begins for Jennifer Fisher (oh dear I mentioned the name again):
if you want us to stop doing what we are doing then sue us
b) now a production company from Europe that I worked with offered to post it all too in the worldwide web..so Jennifer Fisher will have to sue them too .. but to find out who they are she will need to sue me again cos I won't cooperate on any voluntary basis (I know this shit will get expensive for her with all those lawyers she'll need) .. then she'll also need a European lawyer to sue that company
c) in the meantime I couldn't stop a russian film maker from spreading the Jennifer Fisher story either .. so oh well: Jennifer Fisher will have to sue me again to get that ones name too and then get a russian lawyer to stop him doing what hes doing

Stupid me. Wish I would've checked the blog first! I got a letter from michael on Saturday, sharing his concerns over this fraud. I got so upset for him I spent almost a hundred bucks doing background searches on the only 2 licensed attorneys in NY named Jennifer Fisher. Even spoke to one on the phone today!! Well, at least I can also confirm that this crazy b*tch is NOT a bona fide attorney. If I could get my hands on her, I'd get my 100$ back in flesh. Poor michael.

OMG Lp the Europeans have sent me photos of JENNIFER FISHER that they have received from someone in the US. I was shocked, I find she has kind of a high hairline and her head is quite big. In my personal opinion telling by the photos I wasn't even sure if she was woman - or she is just !@@#$% .. they even found out quite some things about her friends and family. You must see these photos, I'll give you the link that the Euros gave me. Do with it whatever you want. I have an address and a phone number too. Just spread it all over the place in the internet and give to Michaels friends if you want to. I don't care and I don't take any responsibilities. The Europeans found and posted it, I'm just giving out a link. LOL
