Time goes by slow for Michael Alig

Not too much to write about lately! Michael is in a bad place, but has had a few visits so that's one good thing. Just him not having access to a phone really slows down his life, and future life plans. I have been getting contacted for future plans for Michael, so it's nice to be able to send that info along to him. It seems like for years he's been getting ready for his future, but it keeps getting delayed!

I asked Michael if the amount of reading material coming in has slowed down, and yes it has! If you're interested, you don't have to buy new things, send him the magazines you have already read! It's a great way to recycle! As always, please tell him in a letter what you sent to him, but don't mail the letter and magazines together, as he won't get the letter!

Michael has plenty of open weekends for visitors, so please email me (comments@michaelaligblog.com) if there's a date you can go.

      Yes, he's still in prison. He doesn't have a date yet. When he's released from Southport he has a 6 month program to do, then goes before the time allowance Committee, and if he has enough Good Time he'll be eligible to be released. Hoping for Spring 2012.

    I was just wondering, if it would be alright for someone totally unknow to him to write? Would that be strange? I'm not a club kid follower, but I am having great sympathy for him. If theres any way I can help, either by providing things from overseas (Im from europe) or financial even let me know.

      It's fine to write, almost everyone he knows now he didn't know before prison! Just tell him a bit about yourself and how you got interested in him, and anything else!

      He doesn't ask for things or money, but I do suggest That you send him a money order in US funds to cover the cost for him to write back to you. (He has no way to make money now) You could send him magazines, he'd like that. He's German and knows some of the language.

      You must have your full name and return address on the envelope, and on a money order, and his name and Din # which is 97A6595

      Here's his address;

      You can help by writing and encouraging him! He really does need everyone now, as this place is getting to him!

      There is no "has to" as far as sending him money to get a return letter. I mention it because people usually just don't think that he has to buy his own stamps in Prison because they have never been there. It would make sense to send him enough to write back to you, so that's like $1.00 every 2 letters.

    Hi I actually never really knew Michael but wrote to him in 2005 and he wrote right back. We have a mutual friend in common (Rob Gee, used to spin at Limlight). Anyway, I am going to write to him again today. I hope to actually meet him in person one day. know he will be living in NYC when he gets out, and I love in Queens.

    I hate the fact that Michael's all the way up in New York state. It's so dam far. I sent another letter to him today. I wish some people would help send Michael's mom and brother in to see him. I never asked him a question like that but I feel his mom never has seen him in a long long time. I hope I'm wrong.

      The thing with helping his mom visit, is Michael won't ask people. I'm sure she'll offer a comment, but recently she did tell me that she and Michael's brother will plan to visit, but not at Southport. They want to be able to spend several days with him, and be able to touch and hug him, and that's not possible at Southport. I was very happy to hear this as she can't do the trip on her own.

      That's so nice of you to be concerned! Michael is still her little boy!
