Michael Alig's Visiting Schedule
Michael has
visitors the following days:
Saturday February 11th (so no one can visit on Sunday, February 5th)
Saturday February 18th (so no one can visit on Sunday, February 12th)
Sunday February 19th (so no one can visit on Saturday, February 25th)
Sunday February 26th (so no one can visit on Saturday, March 3rd)
Saturday March 10th (so no one can visit on Sunday, March 4th)
Michael is only allowed one visit per week, and the week runs Sunday through Saturday. That is why I list the other day that he can't have visitors that week, as if you show up there, they won't let you in. They make NO EXCEPTIONS!
Please email me at comments@michaelaligblog.com to reserve your visiting time. You must be 18 to visit.
Please send letters and cards separate from any packages containing books and/or magazines. Your letter will be sent back to you at Michael's expense, or thrown away.
You must put your full name and address on every piece of mail you send to Michael, or he will not get it! The prison makes NO exceptions!

A word of advice for anyone planning to visit Michael (as I did yesterday): wash your hands very carefully before arriving. A friend who made the trip with me was denied entry after something he had come in contact with caused a false positive on the ION scan machine.
Also, bring plenty of dollar bills. Michael says the food at Southport is very bad, even compared to other prisons, and really appreciates anything you can give him from the vending machines in the visiting room.

I'm sorry your friend didn't get in. I got scanned once at Coxsackie, but luckily passed thru it. They treat you like a criminal when you visit the NY Prisons.
Yes, always bring lots of dollar bills when visiting! Michael doesn't want to ask for things, his visitors she always offer to go get him some food and drink many times during the visit.

My uncle was a prison guard until 2 years ago and I called him about the residue on your hands and not being able to get in. He laughed his butt off. He said that will happen if you have drug residue or a harsh chemical on your hands. He says more to your story than a little residue. They won't deny you access if you have cream or make up on your hands. LMAO

I'd love to write Michael a letter but I have no idea what to write about. He's such a wonderful person, and I'm just a little wannabe.
And also, if you're from another country, like Finland, could he still receive the letter and write back?

Tell him about yourself, why you're interested in him. If you expect a reply, you need to enclose enough postage money in U.S.A. funds as I know that it's close to a dollar for him to write to people in England. He will never ask you for money and doesn't want me to ask, but I feel I need to "remind" people that he has no income and gets over 100 letters a week, so there's no way he can pay for postage for that many people!

PS. I read in a comment on another entry that you had to be over 18, why is that? Can you really not send a letter if you're like 16 or 17?

That is the NY Prison rules. If you tell Michael that you're under 18 then he can't write back or he'll be in trouble.

There's many people who say the same thing. Write about you, your life, why you're interested in him!

Hey everyone, I'm a friend of Michael's from a long time ago. He actually got me my first job checking coats in the Limelight. I have since gone on to bigger and better things, however I run a music and lifestyle blog called www.808dinnerplate.com. I would love some comments. I also do web design and marketing. If you need any of my services you can also visit www.thebrightestidea.com.
Thanks everyone.
